Concise Description and Nature of Services Provided
The project is aimed at improving the income of the rural communities and developing agriculture, in particular the livestock industry, within the constraints of water and feed supplies. This is to be done without degrading the environment and the traditional grazing areas under the management of the local communities.
There are three major technical disciplines involved:
mascott provided specialists in all three disciplines over a period of twelve months, and also undertook the procurement of fencing materials, training equipment, office equipment and the solar pumps.
Achievements
Detailed design of hand dug wells, shortlisting and tender procedures for local contracting completed; supervision of construction works; monitoring procedures designed and initiated by the TA; training needs assessment undertaken; management systems installed; equipment successfully procured
