The greatest threat
to household security in the developing world is undoubtedly HIV and AIDS. Everybody is somehow affected. Employers have seen their staff fall sick
and die, everybody has lost a friend or relation. The family unit is rocked to its foundation by the loss of
father, mother, brothers, sisters, uncles, aunties, and cousins etc.
We have spent over
25 years working in Africa and Asia committed to rural development in its
widest description as a mechanism for social and economic improvement for the
ordinary people. Drought and famine are
no longer the primary focus. All the
previous priorities have been overtaken by the all invasive effects of HIV and
AIDS.
We have a strong
track record of working with Communities in Africa and Asia, we have
unchallenged expertise in communication technologies and have been developing
effective participatory approaches to problem solving interventions since the
1980’s. We have the ability to launch
successful projects in locations with inherent constraints and deliver real
benefits to the individuals and their communities.
It is from this strength that we formed a division
specifically designed to work in the health care sector with emphasis on HIV
and AIDS.
